Waiting for Columbus by Edmonton author Thomas Trofimuk is a tremendously engaging book. Cleverly weaving past and present, it peals the layers of madness from a man who, believing he is Christopher Columbus, is incarcerated in a Spanish mental institution. One moment he is on his cell phone begging Queen Isabella for money for his now famous ships, the next he is seducing his nurses. A wonderful tale that combines, history, mystery and romance, Waiting for Columbus is impossible to put down. (EEW)
